Germany, Luftwaffe. A Front Flying Clasp for Transport and Glider Pilots, Silver Grade

(Frontflugspange für Transport- und Luftlandflieger in Silber). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, overlaid by a Luftwaffe eagle in mid-flight and clutching a mobile swastika, flanked on each side by nine oak leaves, the reverse with a single visible rivet securing the obverse eagle in place, with a barrel hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 77.40 mm (w) x 25.82 mm (h), weighing 19.4 grams, in extremely fine condition.
