(Kreuz des Allgemeinen Ehrenzeichens). Instituted 27 January 1900 by Kaiser Wilhelm II. (1900-1918 issue). Constructed of silver and Gold, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with a central Gold medallion bearing a raised monogram of Kaiser Wilhelm I above a date of “1900”, the reverse with an analogous Gold medallion bearing a raised inscription of “VERDIENST UM DEN STAAT” (“SERVICE TO THE STATE”) inside of a laurel wreath, unmarked, measuring 39.89 mm (w) x 43.79 mm (h), weighing 13.0 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
