Germany, Weimar. A Bavarian Fire Brigade 40-Year Long Service Medal with Miniature, c.1933

(Feuerwehr-Ehrenzeichen für 40 Jährige Dienstzeit). Constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a fireman’s helmet within crossed laurel branches, the reverse with an inscription of “FÜR 40 JÄHRIGE DIENSTZEIT” (“FOR 40 YEARS OF SERVICE”), unmarked, measuring 30.53 mm (w) x 40.95 mm (h), in extremely fine condition, accompanied by its miniature, of identical construction and composition, in extremely fine condition.
