Germany, Third Reich. A Baron vom Stein Plaque, by Hüttenamt Gleiwitz

(Heinrich Friedrich Karl vom und zum Stein Erinnerungsplakette). Constructed of blackened magnetic iron, the obverse with a raised leftward-facing profile of Heinrich Friedrich Karl vom und zum Stein, above his name and dates of “1757-1831”, as well as an inscription of “ICH HABE NUR EIN VATERLAND, UND DAS HEISST DEUTSCHLAND” (“I HAVE ONE FATHERLAND, AND IT IS CALLED GERMANY”), the reverse with a maker’s mark of Hüttenamt Gleiwitz, with an integrated loop for suspension, measuring 98 mm (w) x 149 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
