Constructed of zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a diving Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the obverse eagle in place, with a narrow barrel hinge, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of manufacture by Steinhauer & Lück, Lüdenscheid, measuring 42.09 mm (w) x 52.72 mm (h), weighing 29.0 grams, the badge is missing its pinback and catch and most of the finish has been lost, a late-war example in fair condition.
