Germany, SS. A Superb SS-Issued Patriotic Badge by Otto Gahr, with Case

A round brooch, constructed of bronzed silver, depicting motif from Nordic mythology, Siegfried "The Dragon Slayer", measuring 56mm in diameter, reverse with a pin and hook construction and at the centre is the raised square box with cut corners and the SS Sigrunen. Although unmarked, this brooch is attributed to München silversmith Otto Gahr, a favorite Nazi silversmith, who designed a number of Third Reich SS items, including SS Honor ring. A very rare brooch, in its burgundy case of issue.
