(Fallschirmschützenabzeichen). Instituted on 5 November 1936 by Hermann Göring. Constructed of gilded and silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, overlaid by a swooping Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with two visible rivets holding the obverse eagle in place, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked “P. MEYBAUER BERLIN” on reverse, measuring 42.72 mm (w) x 52.94 mm (h), weighing 37.5 g, extremely fine.
