A 1914 Iron Cross I Class, (Eisernes Kreuz 1914 I. Klasse). Reinstituted 5 August 1914. (1914-1918 issue). Constructed of silver, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central initial “W”, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1914”, the twelve o’clock arm with a royal crown, the reverse is plain and bears a vertical pinback and round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 43.55 mm (w) x 42.98 mm (h), very fine.
A 1914 Iron Cross I Class Document to Leutnant Adam Gotz of the 6th Armee, on cream coloured paper. The document is topped with an image of an Iron Cross with an open ended oak leaf wreath below. The document is dated to 26 May 1917 and stamped. Presenting two folding creases, minor tears, scuffing and creasing at edges. The reverse is taped in one place. Measuring 211 mm (w) x 326 mm (h), very fine.
