Constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, the obverse with two raised figures, one of which is clutching a flag and the other a length of broken chain, above a NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse with a central date of “13. MÄRZ 1938”, circumscribed by an inscription of “EIN VOLK, EIN REICH, EIN FÜHRER” (“ONE PEOPLE, ONE NATION, ONE LEADER”), unmarked, measuring 32.35 mm in diameter, weighing 16.2 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of card stock with a faux red leather exterior, the lid with a gold embossed NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the interior with a white satin-type lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted red velvet medal bed, opening with a functional spring catch with exterior stud release and a functional metal hinge, the lid reverse exterior bearing a maker’s label of “HAUPTMÜNZAMT WIEN” for the Vienna Mint, measuring 48 mm (w) x 103 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), in overall near extremely fine condition.
