Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a mobile swastika, overlaid by a Luftwaffe eagle clutching dual lightning bolts, the reverse with two visible rivets holding the obverse eagle in place, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked “CEJ” for C.E. Juncker, Berlin, measuring 42.78 mm (w) x 52.28 mm (h), weighing 25.4 grams, evidence of period repair to the catch, a narrow wreath variant in overall near extremely fine condition.
