A circular medal constructed of bronze, the obverse bears a cross paty with a central Prussian eagle encompassed by a border inscribed with “VOM FELS ZUM MEER”, a wreath of laurel and oak lays in the quadrants between the arms, the reverse centre reads “1848 FRIEDRICH WILHELM IV 1849” encompassed by a border with the inscription “SEINEN BIS IN DEN TOD GETREUEN KRIEGERN” (HIS DEADLY WARRIORS), with suspension loop on a white and black striped ribbon, measuring 29.93 mm (w) x 35.78 mm (h), very fine.
