Instituted 1837. Type III. 1892 Issue. A cast bronze gilt medal portraying a rampant lion holding a sword with a sunburst in the background, surrounded by a half laurel, half oak leaf wreath, the reverse bears a Persian inscription, measures 34.80mm in diameter, weighs 6.6 grams (excluding ribbon), worn on original green neck ribbon with two buttons at the end of ribbon and a central hook, light wear and edge bruising, very fine condition.
