(Waffenrock für Oberfeldwebel der Luftwaffe). A very well-preserved service tunic for a Luftwaffe Flak/Artillery Oberfeldwebel, constructed of a smooth dark grey rayon-blended material. It features a collar fully trimmed with twisted and rolled red piping, and bordered by a machine-embroidered silver aluminum wire tresse. The collar is flanked by tabs, each constructed of a red cotton-blended base, pinned with four aluminum insignia, and measuring 40 cm (w) x 55 mm (l). Each shoulder is adorned with a board, constructed of a grey wool-blended base, trimmed with red piping, bordered by a machine-embroidered silver aluminum wire tresse, and pinned with two silvered bronze rank pips. The boards, each measuring 45 mm (w) x 105 mm (l), are secured in place with machine stitching at the outer edge and by pebbled magnetic metal buttons on the inner edge. Stitched onto the lower left sleeve just above the cuff is a Flak/Artillery personnel specialist insignia, constructed of a smooth dark grey wool-blended base, trimmed with twisted and rolled silver aluminum wire piping, and bearing a silver-grey machine-embroidered insignia. This patch measures 105 mm (w) x 60 mm (h) overall. The cuff of each sleeve is rolled up to a depth of 145 mm and held in place by pieces of machine stitching at both the front and back. Each breast flap features two pockets, all opening with horizontal flaps with reinforced buttonholes meeting pebbled and silvered zink buttons. Stitched onto the tunic above the upper left pocket is an insignia consisting of a dark grey wool backer bearing a machine-embroidered silver-grey Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika. Dual sets of vertically-arranged threaded loops are set over and beneath the upper left breast pocket for the accommodation of decorations with vertical pinbacks. The edges of the insignia are trimmed with silver-grey machine-embroidery and measuring 100 mm (w) x 60 mm (h). The interior is fully lined with dark grey rayon, which transitions into a cotton-blended pinstripe material through both arms. The liner bears an integrated belt, with dual straps emanating from the lower third, both completing in polished magnetic metal buckles. Stitched onto the collar is a manufacturer’s label reading “OTTO POSCHMANN, KÖNIGSBERG PR.”, set beneath a suspension loop. The tunic measures approximately 460 mm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 580 mm and an overall body length of 665 mm. While well-preserved, it demonstrates some issues consistent with age and use. These include some detachment of the collar piping, sporadic patches of mothing and material fatigue to the exterior material, and minor soiling of the interior liner. The tunic is in an overall better than very fine condition.
