Constructed of silver, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central initial “W”, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1914”, the twelve o’clock arm with a royal crown, the reverse with three central oak leaves, the six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, the twelve o’clock arm with initials “FW” topped by a royal crown, marked “.500” (silver content mark) on suspension loop, with black and white ribbon, measuring 42.49 mm (w) x 47.10 mm (h), weighing 20.4 grams, very fine.
A 1914 Iron Cross II Class Award Document to Major Lieber of the 3rd Grenadier Regiment of King Friedrich Wilhelm I, on cream-coloured paper. Awarded 23 May 1916, stamped and signed. Presenting a single folding crease, minimal creasing and scuffing at corners. Measuring 208 mm (w) x 167 mm (h), very fine.
