An Iron Cross II Class, (Eisernes Kreuz 1914 II. Klasse). Reinstituted 5 August 1914. (1914-1918 issue). Constructed of iron and silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central initial “W”, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1914”, the twelve o’clock arm with a royal crown, the reverse with three central oak leaves, the six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, the twelve o’clock arm with initials “FW” topped by a royal crown, the suspension loop marked with indistinguishable maker mark, measuring 43.18 mm (w) x 46.50 mm (h), weighing 20.2 grams, very fine.

A 1914 Iron Cross II Class Document to Oberstleutnant and Commander Eberhard Kintzel of the 4th Reserve Jager Battalion, on cream-coloured cardstock. The top bears an image of a 1914 Iron Cross topped with a crown and encompassed by an open ended oak leaf wreath, with a black border. The document is dated 7 October 1914, stamped and signed. Presenting two minor tears at the top, taped at the back in those two places. Measuring 303 mm (w) x 218 mm (h), extremely fine.
