Germany, Luftwaffe. A Flak Badge in Tombak, by F.W. Assmann & Söhne

(Flak-Kampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe). A rare Luftwaffe Flak Badge in tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Luftwaffe eagle clutching a hand-filed mobile swastika, with a central Flak 88 with its barrel raised and extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, double marked with the logo of F.W. Assmann & Söhne, with one mark on the reverse of the badge and the other on the reverse of the eagle’s left wing, measuring 46.06 mm (w) x 61.84 mm (h) (inclusive of eagle), weighing 45.4 grams, with evidence of polishing to the obverse, a rare badge in extremely fine condition.
