(Heer Waffenrock für Wehrmachtbeamte Offizier). An extremely well-preserved Heer Gebirgsjäger Administration Officer’s dress tunic, constructed of field-grey whipcord wool twill. It features an integrated smooth dark green wool collar, trimmed with light green Waffenfarbe piping. The collar is flanked on each side by tabs constructed of a light green wool base, trimmed with white piping, and bearing dual machine-embroidered silver aluminum wire insignia. Each tab measures 45 mm (w) x 70 mm (l). The shoulders are flanked by boards constructed of cardboard-reinforced light green wool bases, trimmed with white piping, bearing four bands of silver aluminum wire piping, and pinned with gilded bronze rank pips and Heeresverwaltung cyphers. Each measuring 35 mm (w) x 100 mm (l), the boards are secured to the tunic with a row of interior machine stitching on the outer edge and by a pebbled magnetic metal button on the inner edge. Stitched onto the upper right arm is an insignia in the form of a dark green oval backer bearing a machine-embroidered multi-coloured edelweiss within a knotted oval wreath. It measures 52 mm (w) x 65 mm (h). The cuff of each sleeve features an added layer of dark green wool, measuring 80 mm in width from the sleeve opening. Stitched onto each cuff are dual insignia constructed of light green wool, trimmed with white piping, and bearing machine-embroidered silver aluminum wire insignia. Each insignia measures 35 mm (w) x 60 mm (h) and bears a pebbled magnetic metal button. Stitched onto the upper left breast flap is an insignia consisting of a dark green wool backer bearing a hand-embroidered silver aluminum wire Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, with details highlighted in dark green threading, and measuring 110 mm (w) x 45 mm (h). The tunic closes with eight pebbled magnetic metal buttons on the right flap meeting an equal number of reinforced buttonholes on the left flap.

A fully intact Officer’s dress aiguillette is secured at one end to the right shoulder board and at the other to the second breast button. The aiguillette is constructed of multiple pieces of twisted and rolled silver aluminum wire piping braided into large knots, and completes with dual stylized silvered zink hangers. The exterior features are completed at the reverse with a vertical slit, overlaid on each side by scalloped flaps. Both flaps are trimmed with light green piping and overlaid by three pebbled magnetic metal buttons. A complete grey rayon liner encompasses the interior, which transitions into white through the arms. A single interior pocket is located at the upper left breast flap, opening with a reinforced horizontal flap, while underneath the pocket a small reinforced horizontal slit accommodates an optional dagger hanger. The liner features an internal belt apparatus in the form of two rayon straps emanating from the middle of the tunic, both of which complete with magnetic metal buckles, just adjacent to the breast flaps. Each armpit features an integrated rayon loop with a machine-embroidered maker’s mark of “A. ROST, ASCHAFFENBURG”. The interior features are complete by three silvered metal butterfly clips set into the collar for the accommodation of a stay, as well as by dual bronze clips on the right meeting an equal number of bronze loops on the left, facilitating a flush fit with the wearer’s neck. It measures approximately 440 mm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 580 mm and an overall body length of 680 mm. Sporadic patches of material fatigue are evident to the exterior wool, in addition to minor soiling of the interior liner. The tunic is in an overall extremely fine condition.
