Germany, Luftwaffe. A Bomber Flight Clasp, Gold Grade, with Star Pendant

(Frontflugspange für Kampf und Sturzkampfflieger in Gold mit Anhänger). Constructed of a gilded zink alloy, the obverse consisting of a central circular laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a swastika, overlaid by a silvered winged bomb, flanked on each side by nine oak leaves, the wreath with dual integral loops accommodating a pendant consisting of a central radiant star flanked on each side by three laurel leaves, the reverse with a barrel hinge and horizontal tapering pinback meeting a round wire catch, with a visible central rivet securing the obverse bomb in place, unmarked, the clasp measuring 76.17 (w) x 25.44 mm (h), the pendant measuring 35.48 mm (w) x 14.20 mm (h), weighing 22.9 grams overall, there is evidence of pendant re-attachment, in overall better than very fine condition.
