Germany, SS. A SS 8-Year Long Service Award

(SS-Dienstauszeichnung für 8 Jahre). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1945 issue). Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, the obverse bearing a raised swastika with ribbed arms, overlaid by a raised oak leaf wreath with central double Sig runes, the reverse with a raised number “8”, overlaid by an inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER SS” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE SS”), unmarked, measuring 38.23 mm in diameter, weighing 26.6 grams, in extremely fine condition.
