A rare award document for a Kriegsmarine Shipyard Merit Badge, constructed of off-white paper stock with multi-coloured ink, the obverse bearing a map of Scandinavia, within a red border topped by a depiction of the accompanying decoration, with an inscription of “VERLEIHUNGSURKUNDE - IN ANERKENNUNG VORBILDLICHER LEISTUNG UND FÜHRUNG WÄHREN MEHR ALS ZWEI JÄHRIGEN EINSATZES IN NORWEGEN VERLEIHE ICH AN WERKMEISTER KLÄDEN MIT DIESER URKUNDE DAS WERFT-LEISTUNGSABZEICHEN” (“AWARD CERTIFICATE - IN RECOGNITION OF MORE THAN TWO YEARS OF EXCEPTIONAL PERFORMANCE AND LEADERSHIP IN NORWAY, I AWARD WERKMEISTER KLÄDEN WITH THE SHIPYARD MERIT BADGE”), dated 10 February 1945 and issued in Horten, Norway, featuring a handwritten signature of Vizeadmiral Günther Krause, measuring 172 mm (w) x 242 mm (h), a folding crease is evident to the centre, a rare document in near extremely fine condition.
