Germany, Third Reich. A Rare Lufthansa 15 Year Faithful Service Badge

(Lufthansa Dienstauszeichnung für 15 jährige Treue Dienste). Constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, horizontal pinback, the obverse consisting of a gilt German national eagle overlaid by a black mobile swastika, clutching a blue enameled disc with a central gilt Lufthansa insignia, the reverse bearing an engraved inscription of “FÜR 15 JÄHRIGE TREUE DIENSTE” (“FOR 15 YEARS OF FAITHFUL SERVICE”), topped by an engraved issue number of “57”, measuring 25.12 mm (w) x 24.25 mm (h), weighing 3.3 grams, a rare badge in extremely fine condition.
