Constructed of silver, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a German State Crown, around a central depiction of a monoplane flying over a rural landscape, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, etched with a recipient’s name of “LT. FESKE” and a date of “3. 9. 17”, maker marked “C.E. JUNCKER, BERLIN”, with a silver content number of “800”, and a crescent moon indicating German manufacture, measuring 45.47 mm (w) x 71.46 mm (h), weighing 30.0 grams, a rare personalized example of a Prussian-issued Pilot’s Badge in extremely fine condition.
