Instituted on January 13, 1879. In silver gilt, a white enamelled star with ball finials, with seven smooth rays in each quadrant, the obverse medallion presents two figures kneeling at a cross in silver gilt, the reverse presents a single pin suspension with dual stays, makers cartouche of GUSTAVE WOLFERS, and a mark on the pin denoting a silver fineness of .925 from the Netherlands, post-1953, measures 79.60mm (w) x 92mm (h), weighs 77.2 grams, enamel replacement evident at tip of 10 o’clock arm, small enamel cracks, scattered gilt wear, otherwise in very fine condition.
