A Knight’s Cross 2nd Class with Swords of the Order of the Zähringer Lion certificate, named to Leutnant and company leader Balthasar Eberhard in Armierungs (armouring) Battalion No. 70. Dated to Karlsruhe on 11 May 1917. Measuring 211 mm (w) x 216 mm (h), presenting two folding creases and light overall creasing, remains near very fine.
A preliminary Iron Cross 2nd Class certificate to Leutnant Eberhard, dated to Schloss Homburg in July of 1916 and signed in black ink by General of the Infantry Hans Gaede (1852-1916), a recipient of the Pour le Mérite. Measuring 182 mm (w) x 146 mm (h), presenting light scuffing and one minor tear at the top, remains very fine.
Both certificates are glued to semi-see through protective paper.
