Germany, Empire. An Iron Cross 1914, First Class, Cloth Version

(Eisernes Kreuz 1914 1. Klasse, Stoffversion). A cross pattée constructed of a black cotton core, with white embroidery to outline the shape of the cross, as well as silver bullion embroidery to shape the central “W”, with the re-institution date “1914” in raised numbering on the lower arm, and the royal crown on the upper arm; the reverse with a black paper backer; measuring 44 mm (w) x 44 mm (h); in overall very fine condition.
