Canada, Commonwealth. An RCAF Sweetheart Silver Compact, c. 1943

In sterling silver, the exterior lid presents a delicately engraved pair of crowned wings with RCAF in the center of the wreath, the exterior reverse is engraved “Kay from Johnnie 11-9-43”, the interior lid presents a crisp round mirror, the base is marked with an engraved lion denoting sterling silver, the interior base lid lifts to present a round concave disc to hold makeup, measures 61.55mm (w – including push clasp) x 60.44mm (h), weighs 58.1 grams, all clasps and hinges in working order, traces of makeup, wear to exterior, still better than very fine condition. Contained in a small cloth sack.
