Germany, Third Reich. A Baden Volunteer Fire Brigade 25-Year Long Service Badge

(Feuerwehr-Ehrenzeichen für 25 Jahre). Constructed of silver, with a period original ribbon loop through the decoration, the obverse consisting of a clasp inscribed “25 JAHRE BEI DER FREIW. FEUERWEHR” (“25 YEARS WITH THE VOLUNTEER FIRE BRIGADE”), flanked by a mobile swastika and the coat of arms of the State of Baden, the reverse with a barrel hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 58.92 mm (w) x 23.91 mm (h), accompanied by its period original presentation case constructed of card stock with a faux black leather exterior, the obverse lid with a gold inscription of “BADISCHES EHRENZEICHEN FÜR 25 JÄHRIGE DIENSTE BEI DER FREI. FEUERWEHR” (“BADEN HONOUR BADGE FOR 25 YEARS OF SERVICE IN THE VOLUNTEER FIRE BRIGADE”), with a white celluloid lid liner and slotted black doeskin medal bed, measuring 82 mm (w) x 46 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
