Constructed of gilded and patinated zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a diving gilt Luttwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with two visible rivets securing in place the obverse eagle, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked with the logo of F.W. Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid, measuring 42.94 mm (w) x 53.55 mm (h), weighing 24.7 grams, a quintessential type “G” Assmann badge in near mint condition.
