The book includes an ex libris A.H. card and the following dedication: “Dedicated to Reich Chancellor A.H. in sincere and thankful reverence by the author”. The author is Vincenz-Wilhelm Hodapp, former owner of the F. Hodapp beer brewery in Holzminden, Lower Saxony. Hodapp claims that a rival company, Allersheimer brewery, bankrupted him with unethical business practices. Allersheimer bought the F. Hodapp brewery in 1929. The purpose of the book is to clear Hodapp’s name and to prevent other businesses doing the same to their business rivals in the future. Hodapp decided to write and publish the book when Allersheimer began with the construction of a barbed wire fence around their property, which Hodapp claimed would have defaced his property, which was located right next to the brewery. The title of the book, “Drahtzieher”, literally translates to “wire drawer”, but is a play on words, as the term is generally used to mean “mastermind” or “string puller”. Softcover, 66 pages, measuring 192 mm (w) x 271 mm (h), presenting some scuffing and light discolouration of the cover, as well as light warping and some scuffing of the body of the book, remains better than fine.
