(Königliche Kronen-Orden, III. Klasse in Gold). Instituted 18 October 1861 by King Wilhelm I. (1867-1918 issue). Constructed of 14 karat Gold frame with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a Gold frame and white enameled arms outlined in gilt, the obverse with a central gilt medallion bearing a raised crown, within a ring of blue enamel bearing a gilt inscription of “GOTT MIT UNS” (“GOD IS WITH US”) and arabesques, the reverse with an analogous medallion bearing a raised monogram of King Wilhelm I, within a ring of blue enamel bearing a gilt institution date of “DEN 18. OCTOBER 1861”, the twelve o’clock arm with an integral loop and suspension ring connecting to a period original ribbon, the six o’clock arm marked with a “W” for maker Wagner & Sohn, Berlin, measuring 42.66 mm (w) x 46.42 mm (h), weighing 11.3 grams, some oxidation is evident to the central medallion, along with minor flecking of the enamels, in overall near extremely fine condition.
