Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension, the obverse with a rightward-facing profile of Kaiser Wilhelm II, circumscribed by an excerpt from his “Balcony Speeches” reading “ICH KENNE KEIN PARTEIEN MEHR, ICH KENNE NUR DEUTSCHE” (“I KNOW NO MORE PARTIES, I KNOW ONLY GERMANS”), the reverse with a central sword flanked by an inscription of “IN AUFGEDRUNGENER NOTWEHR MIT REINEM GEWISSEN UND REINER HAND ERGREIFEN WIR DAS SCHWERT” (“IN SELF-DEFENCE AND WITH A CLEAR CONSCIENCE AND PURE HAND WITH SEIZE THE SWORD”), topped by a date of “1914”, set inside a silver laurel and oak leaf frame, topped by number “25”, measuring 40.21 mm (w) x 47.28 mm (h), 19.9 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
