Germany, Luftwaffe. A Luftwaffe Front Flying Clasp for Transport Pilots, Silver Grade

(Frontflugspange für Transport und Luftlandflieger in Silber). Instituted on 30.1.1941 by Reichsmarshall Hermann Göring. (Issued 1941-1945). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse with a central laurel wreath with a Luftwaffe eagle clutching a swastika in the centre, with nine oak leaves on either side of the wreath, the reverse plain, with a barrel hinge and horizontal banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, measuring 76.75 mm (w) x 25.65 mm (w), weighing 18.4 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
