Constructed of a silvered bronze alloy with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a double-overlaid eight-pointed starburst pattern, with a central silvered disc overlaid by a raised and black-enameled mobile swastika, within a stamped and silvered circular laurel leaf wreath, wrapped in ribbon and joined together at the bottom by a date of “1941”, with rings of red enamel trimming both the inner and outer edges of the wreath, the reverse with four visible rivets securing the obverse features in place, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of manufacture by Deschler & Sohn, München, measuring 63.10 mm (w) x 63.34 mm (h), weighing 65.6 grams, the cross is missing all of its pinback hardware and some loss of finish is evident throughout, in overall very fine condition.
