(Eisernes Kreuz 1870 II Klasse) A cross pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened iron core (magnetic) within a ribbed border; vaulted, the obverse centre bears a cipher “W” for Wilhelm, the 12 o’clock arm bears a crown and the 6 o’clock arm bears the date “1870”, the reverse centre bears a sprig of oak leaves, the 12 o’clock arm bears a crowned “FW” cipher, the 6 o’clock arm bears the date “1813”, the 12 o’clock arm has period repair, measuring 41.49 mm (w) x 45.65 mm (h), weighing 22.6 g, with a 25 year jubilee spange made of silver, on a black ribbon with two white stripes, very fine.
