A Scottish Dagger, composed of a stainless steel single edged blade with a partial diagonal fuller on each cheek, the back of the blade displays scalloped filework typical of the dagger, the blade is maker marked J. NOWILL & SONS SKEAN -DHU SHEFFIELD ENGLAND on the cheek, the stainless steel guard portrays Scottish thistles and attached to the hilt, composed of wood and black lacquer carved into Celtic knots, the reverse is plain and hand engraved R S ANDS, the pommel matches the guard in Scottish thistle design, with a glass jewel pommel base, measures 181mm (l) x 33mm (width of guard), the blade length is 96mm, weighs 72.2 grams (excluding sheath), guard and pommel both slightly loose, blade presents scratches and rust near tip, wear to hilt, overall better than fine condition; the sheath is composed of re-enforced leather, the throat surrounded by a decorative metal ring portraying Celtic knots and Scottish thistles, measures 86.5mm (l) x 28mm (width of throat), the metal tip is missing allowing the tip of the blade to show through, leather worn, residue on obverse and reverse, fine condition.
