Germany, Luftwaffe. An Air-to-Ground Support Squadron Clasp, Gold Grade with Star Pendant

(Frontflugspange für Schlachtflieger). An elongated clasp constructed of gilt feinzink, the obverse centre bears two upwards facing cut out swords encompassed by a laurel wreath with a swastika at the bottom, flanked by oak leaves on the left and right sides, attached by two short chains is a pendant consisting of a central star with three leaves on both the left and right sides (indicative of 400 operational flights), the reverse is plain and the clasp bears a magnetic horizontal banjo style pinback with flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 76.75 mm (w) x 42.45 mm (w), weighing 22.2 g, very fine.
