A Croatian-style cross moline (same cross seen on Prince Viselav’s baptismal font) in silver and red-enamelled arms, obverse centre presents the silver obverse centre presenting a silver letter ""U"" with a flaming grenade with the Croatian šahovnica, reverse presenting red-enamelling and the inscription 10.IV. ZA ZASLUGE 1942, measuring 55.38 mm (w) x 60.65 mm (h), weighing 56.8 grams, on clip attached to period original sash, and in extremely fine condition. Accompanied by the matching star, constructed of silver, with eight arms composed of clusters of rays, obverse centre presents a red-enamelled cross, also featuring a silver letter "U" with a flaming grenade with the Croatian šahovnica, reverse centre presents a silvered cross inscribed 10.IV. ZA ZASLUGE 1942, reverse presents a principle pin assembly, makers marked with BK for Braća Knaus, hallmarked on pin as well as hallmarked with a goose and Roman numeral "III" denoting .800 silver content, measuring 85.41 mm (w) x 85.97 mm (h), weighing 53.4 grams, displaying no enamel loss, and in extremely fine condition.

Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
