Czechoslovakia. A German Captured and Repurposed Czechoslovak VZ34 Steel Helmet
Constructed of steel (magnetic), originally issued to the Czechoslovak army as a VZ34 steel helmet, but captured by German forces following their invasion, and re-purposed. It was repainted with olive-drab paint on the exterior with a Wehrmacht Heer eagle decal attached to one of the sides of the helmet. The interior was also repainted, still featuring its five original white padded leather pockets that are attached to the interior of the helmet via large metal rivets visible on the reverse. Its chinstrap is partially preserved, being constructed of butterscotch-brown leather attached to the helmet via a metal keeper on either side of the helmet. It measures 237 mm (w) x 275 mm (h). A worn helmet in overall near very fine condition.
