Christian X (1912-1947 Issue). Grand Cross: Gold with red and white enamels, with the crowned cypher of Christian X (1912-1947), weighing 35.8 grams inclusive of its ribbon, Danish assay marked with the three towers for Copenhagen and marked "98" (1898) on the loop, 39.8 mm (w) x 78.5 mm (h), on its full-length sash, tiny chips evident in the red enamels on the reverse of the arm at 9 o'clock); and Breast Star: Gold with red and white enameled cross, mounted to a an eight-pointed star base, weighing 60.4 grams, unmarked, 83 mm (w) x 78.2 mm (h), dual prong vertical pinback, chipping evident in the white enamels on the cross just below the "W"). Better than very fine. In their hardshelled case of issue, maker marked "A. MICHELSEN KØBENHAVN" on the inside lid, raised platform with recessed medal beds, accompanied by the Award Document (dated August 26, 1912 and numbered "31", masthead printed in black ink, personalized inscriptions and text in handwritten black ink, 210 mm (w) x 265 mm (h), fold marks); and a Member of the Order of the Elephant and the Order of the Dannebrog Letter of Explanation (numbered "33", printed in black ink, on an off-white paper stock, 219 mm (w) x 290 mm (h)), contact marks and scuffing on the exterior, case also better than very fine.
