(Jewellery, Brooches). Victorian. Ladies. Finely crafted in 14kt-18kt yellow gold and platinum. This gorgeous circular brooch bears a detachable bale and a draped mobile diamond chain link of foliate design. The brooch is set with 57 old mine cut diamonds gauging from .00mm to 3.1mm, total approximate weight 12.70ct., of VVS-2 to I-1 clarity, G-H-I colour, fair cut, and 43 old mine cut diamonds gauging from 2.40mm to 1.50mm, total approximate weight 1.30ct., of VVS-2 to SI-2 clarity, H-I colour, fair cut. With three round cultured pearls, one of which is 7.80mm in diameter and two of 5.35mm in diameter. The pearls are of a white body colour with pink and green overtones, low lustre, medium nacre thickness, good matching quality. The reverse bears a horizontal pin for attachment with a flat wire catch. The total diamond weight is 14.00ct and the total weight of the brooch is 38.1 grams. Measuring 71.03mm (h) x 50.47mm (w). With light scratching on the reverse, this spectacular brooch is in extremely fine condition.
