A lovely silver hand mirror, presenting a small mirror set in a silver frame, the reverse presents a delicate hatch pattern with a central monogrammed A, the handle is marked BIRKS STERLING below the mirror on the obverse, measures 310mm (w) x 120mm (w), weighs 318.5 grams, the mirror presents small chips around the outside and scratches on the class, silver is toned with patina appropriate to handling, in near very fine condition.
Footnote: Henry Birks & Company was established in Montreal in 1879 as a retail jeweller. In 1897, Birks bought Hendery & Leslie, their largest supplier of silverware, and began manufacturing their own products. Birks was the leading silver manufacturer in Canada in the 20th century.
