Institution Date: 1941. A large type silver alloy Star of Victory, measuring at approximately 44mm (w) x 58mm (h), on period ribbon, accompanied by the Star of Victory in bronze, unmarked, measuring at approximately 36mm (w) x 54mm (h).
Footnote: This Medal was established by Emperor Haile Selassie I in 1941 after the expulsion of Italian forces from Ethiopia. It was awarded in recognition of service against the Italian invasion from 1935-1941. The obverse features an Amharic inscription in Ge'ez script that can be translated to "Star of Victory 1933, Unforgettable Achievement."
