A Scarce First War Austro-Hungarian Calvary NCO's Side Cap

A Scarce First War Austro-Hungarian Calvary NCO's Side Cap - This cap is a rare and very uncommon example of a highly desirable Austrian/ Hungarian Cavalry Side Cap for NCO's. It has recently been recovered from an older collection in Europe. Produced in a deep red felt exhibiting only small period tears and wear; period repair to top ridge. The cap features an intacted black leather interior band that shows period use; minimal cracking and it remains flexible and rather supple. Importantly the interior of the cap is extremely well marked with over nine separate production, size, and maker marks. Made by 1.K. The exterior of the cap has the original "K" cap badge for Karol Habsburg as well as one of two original buttons. Accompanying the cap is a 3 Armee 1914/1915 Badge that was attached to the cap when originally found. Overall, this cap is considered scarce and is in fine condition. (C:23)
