A Very Rare Order of St. Stephen in Gold; Grand Cross - in Gold and enamels, circa 1880-1900, measures 48.93mm (x 90mm including crown suspension), weighs 44.4 grams, double hallmarked on arched cross suspension and on the ring: FR (Rothe) along with “Gemnsenkopf” hallmark (for 18kt Gold), “A” hallmark (for Vienna), and also French (Owl) import mark for 18kt. Gold; of most superb quality manufacture, magnificent quality enamels, without ribbon, near mint condition and extremely rare.
