Austria, Empire. An Honour Decoration for the Merit of the Republic, Type I Grand Star, by Anton Rietterer, c.1930
Instituted October 4, 1922. Type II (1924 – 1934). A five-armed star in silver bear a cross hatched pattern and feathered edges, the obverse center features a red enamelled cross in silver gilt, the reverse features a unique Y pronged pin, with makers cartouche in the center denoting Anton Rietterer, measures 74.6mm (w) x 73.1mm (h), weighs 44.0 grams, lovely patina, a scarce decoration, in extremely fine condition.
