Austro-Hungarian Empire. A Studio Photo of an Internationally Decorated Army Officer
In black and white, matte finish, obverse illustrating an Austro-Hungarian Army officer in his dress uniform, in a studio setting, wearing four awards on his left breast: the Order of the Iron Crown, the Military Merit Cross, the Commemorative Medal 1898 "Signvm Memoriae", and the Military Long Service Decoration, along with the Spanish Order of Military Merit Breast Star appearing just below the Austrian awards. In addition, he is wearing the Imperial Russian Order of St. Anne around his neck, along with the Prussian Order of the Red Eagle above the Saxon Albert Order on his right breast, the photograph measuring 97 mm (w) x 142 mm (h) and board-mounted, marked with the "J. Krzanowski KAMMERFOTOGRAF CZERNOWITZ HERRENGASSE 39" embossed studio stamps in silver-coloured ink below the photograph, reverse of the board printed in black ink, illustrating a cherub raising its arms and framing a coat-of-arms, studio marked "J. Krzanowski KAMMERFOTOGRAF CZERNOWITZ HERRENGASSE 39", the board designed with rounded corners and measuring 100 mm (w) x 162 mm (h), the photograph exhibiting spotting on the right side and on the studio marked panel below, the lower right corner displaying a slight crack from being partially bent back.
