Austria, Empire. A Marksmanship Performance Badge of the KuK Artillery for First Gunners
In bronzed tombac, illustrating crossed cannons backed by a target and surmounted by the Austrian crown, all within an open-ended wreath of laurel leaves, measuring 45.7 mm in diameter, intact clip, scattered bronzing wear on the obverse, surface rust on the reverse, very fine.
Footnote: This was instituted in 1888 by Kaiser Franz Joseph, while in 1913 a similar badge, with the Hungarian crown, was adopted for the Hungarian Artillery.
