Austria, Empire. An Emperial Austro-Hungarian Pilot’s Cap Badge
(Piloten-Mützenabzeichen). Constructed of zink, the obverse consisting of an open-ended oval oak wreath, with an eagle at the bottom of the badge clutching a propeller, with the top of the wreath decorated by the coat of arms of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Superimposed onto the badge is a banner that is inscribed “K.u.K. LUFTFAHRTENTRUPPE”, with a vertical pinback, measuring 31.87 mm (w) x 42.78 mm (h), in overall good condition.
