Austria-Hungary, Empire. An Infantry Regiment Hoch- und Deutschmeister Nr. 4 Commemorative Badge, by Rozet & Fischmeister
(Infanterieregiment „Hoch- und Deutschmeister“ Nr. 4 Erinnerungsabzeichen). Constructed of bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a black- white, and gold enameled Latin Cross, overlaid by a shield bearing an Austrian imperial eagle, set within a circular laurel wreath, flanked by a date of “1690” on a hollow background, overlaying an oval ring bearing an inscription of “K.U.K. I.R. HOCH- UND DEUTSCHMEISTER NO. 4” with dates “1914-1916”, the reverse with a flattened vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked “ROZET & FISCHMEISTER” for the Vienna-based firm, measuring 36.12 mm (w) x 49.60 mm (h), weighing 16.6 grams, in extremely fine condition.
