Austria-Hungary, Imperial. A Viennese Citizens Association Membership Badge, with Case, by Reinemer & Spiegel

(Wiener Bürger Vereinigung Mitgliedsabzeichen mit Etui). Constructed of bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse bearing a central raised depiction of Vienna City Hall, topped by a castle, above an enameled coat of arms, and circumscribed by three white enameled banners bearing a gilt inscription of “WIENER BÜRGER VEREINIGUNG” (“VIENNESE CITIZENS ASSOCIATION”), the reverse with an attachment clip maker marked “REINEMER & SPIEGEL, WIEN”, measuring 39 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a heavy card stock frame with a faux black leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilt embossed coat of arms within a stylized border of identical construction, the interior with a slotted brown velvet medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 70 mm (w) x 88 mm (l) x 26 mm (h), the badge demonstrates moderate loss of finish, while extensive material fatigue is evident to the case, including the loss of the ldi liner and detachment of the medal bed, in overall very fine condition.
